Privacy & terms

SpeedyMee helps people meet at in-person speed dating nights. This page explains what the app stores, who can see it, and the rules for using it.

What we collect

Your account

• Your email address and password, or the account details Apple or Google share when you sign in with them.

Your dater profile

• Your photo, first name, age and a short description of yourself. You must be 18 or older.
• Your orientation, so you're shown nights that are for you.
• A phone number for hosts. Only the hosts of nights you've registered for can see it, so they can reach you about the event.
• An optional phone number for matches, shown to your matches only if you turn that on.
• Optional social handles (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, Facebook, LinkedIn), shown to your matches.
• For some nights, a seating preference that only the host can see.

What you do in the app

• The nights you register for.
• How you rate each person you meet (Like, Friends or Not interested).
• Your matches, the messages you send them, and anyone you block.
• For hosts: the nights you create and run.

Usage analytics

The app records basic usage events (for example, which screens are opened) through Newly's first-party analytics, so we can see what works and fix what doesn't. These events are not sold or used for advertising.

Who can see what

• Other daters at a night see your photo, first name and age while you're seated with them.
• Your ratings are private. Nobody is told how you rated them. A match is only made when two people both say yes, and matches are revealed when the host sends results.
• Your matches see your profile, your messages to them and the contact details you chose to share with matches.
• Hosts of a night you registered for see your full profile, including your host phone number and any seating preference, so they can run the event.
• Blocked people can no longer message you.

Where it's kept and who processes it

Your profile, photos, ratings, matches and messages are stored on the app's own servers, run on Newly's infrastructure. Ticket payments, when they're switched on, are handled by the payment provider (such as Apple or Stripe); we never see your full card number. We don't sell your personal information.

Your choices

• You can edit your profile, your contact details and what you share with matches at any time in the app.
• You can block anyone you've matched with.
• To delete your account and the data tied to it, contact us through the Support page. We'll remove your profile, photos, ratings, matches and messages.

Terms of use

• You must be at least 18 years old to use SpeedyMee.
• Use your real first name, age and a photo of yourself.
• Be respectful, at the table and in chat. Harassment, hate, threats, nudity and spam are not allowed, and accounts that break these rules can be removed.
• Hosts are responsible for the nights they publish, including the venue, the ticket price and how the night is run. Refunds for a night are between you and its host.
• Meet safely: matches are people you met in person, but take the usual care when you see someone again.
• The app is provided as is. We may change these terms; if we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
